August 1898On August 8, 1898, Mrs. Fannie Porter died at her home, near Truro, of consumption; aged about 45 years. The funeral sermon was preached from the Baptist church by Rev. Stitt, of Colfax, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at St. Charles. Two sons and two daughters, her immediate surviving relatives, were with her during her last illness. Mrs. Porter was a lady well-liked and stood well with her friends and neighbors.

Ohio TownshipMrs. Fanny Porter, who has been a sufferer from consumption for the past year, died at her home east of town Monday evening, August 8th, 1898. Rev. Stitt, of Colfax, conducted the funeral services in the Baptist church on Wednesday and the remains were interred in the St. Charles cemetery. She leaves two sons and two daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral.
