April 1896Celestia Liona Delong Pike died April 15, 1896, at her home in Herndon, Guthrie county, Iowa, aged 35 years 3 months and 11 days. She was born and grew to womanhood in Madison county. She was married to Charles Pike July 4, 1880. Deceased leaves a husband and four children, three boys and one girl to mourn the loss of a wife and mother.
She was a member of the Christian church and always living close to her faith. She was buried in the Hartman cemetery (A poem is here)
We tender our heartfelt thanks to those who so kindly assisted us in the burial of our daughter and sister, Charles Pike, Mrs. M. J. Delong.
