March 3, 1963 - April 7, 2015Ronald R. Boylan, 52, of Melrose died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present at this time to receive friends. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11 at Ochiltree Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to the family and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com
Ronald Ray Boylan, the son of Connie Boylan and William Boylan, was born March 3, 1963, in Des Moines. He attended the Winterset Schools and later earned his GED. Ron and wife, Joni Jamison spent 17 years together.
He was a Rathbun Lake Fishing Guide and a self-employed flooring contractor. Ron loved spending as much time outdoors as possible. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and searching for the seasonal mushrooms. Ron was a handyman that always helped family with their many projects. He was a member of the North American Fur Auction and the Crappie Masters. Ron enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit his son. Family was very important to Ron and he treasured the time he was able to spend with them. He was a beloved husband, father and son.
Ron is survived by his wife Joni Jamison of Melrose; mother Connie Boylan of Melrose; father Bill Boylan of Melrose; three children: Mason Boylan and fiancé Becky Wearne of Melbourne, FL; Samantha Nesbitt and husband Brock of Winterset; Jason “Buck” Boylan of Melrose; brother Rob Boylan of Melrose; dog Willy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mason and Louise Walker; brother Jim Boylan; sister Jayette Boylan Sumpter; and Aunt Korene Ivy.
