Ruth Good, 91, of Winterset, Iowa died Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 27 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, where family will be present at this time to receive friends. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 27 at the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary and online condolences maybe be left at ochiltree.com.

Ruth Nadine Good, daughter of George and Ambie (Fryar) Barnes, was born December 30, 1923 in Sheffield, Iowa. She graduated from Sheffield High School and went on to graduate from Drake University with a degree in education.

Ruth was united in marriage to Robert Emil Good during his military leave at the Methodist Church in Sheffield, Iowa and two children were born to this union. Ruth taught for over 25 years with the majority of that time spent teaching music at the Winterset Elementary Schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, several bridge clubs around town, the PEO, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ruth and Bob were able to travel to all 50 states. She loved to cook and sewed many quilts for her family. Ruth received the Woman of the Year in Winterset and was an active volunteer for numerous causes. Ruth was an amazing wife, mother and friend who would keep you on your toes and a smile on your face.

She is survived by her children Robert Good of Winterset, Ambie (Theodore) Timmerman of Eagle Grove; grandchildren, Jeanette Good, Christina Timmerman, and Robert Timmerman; sister-in-law, Pat Barnes; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother, George Barnes; sister, Lida (Larry) Larson; grandson, Ronald Good; and daughter-in-law, Linda Good.
