Pauline Hammar, 90, of Winterset, Iowa died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the West Bridge Care Center & Rehab in Winterset.

    A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present at this time to receive friends.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26 at Ochiltree Funeral service with burial at 2:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Iowa.  Memorials may be directed to the family for later distribution and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com.

PAULINE HAMMAR, Winterset

Pauline Hammar, 90, of Winterset died Monday, March 23, 2015, at West Bridge Care & Rehab in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 26, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, with burial at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family for later distribution.

Pauline Mae Simons, the daughter of Charles and Della (Maile) Simons, was born March 25, 1924, in Jefferson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942. She was united in Marriage to Wilbur Dean Hammar on July 9, 1941 in Kirksville, Mo.; to this union four children were born. Pauline worked as a saleswoman for Avon for 14 year. She also worked for Fuller Brush Cleaning Supplies and Franklin Manufacturing in Jefferson; retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Scranton, and enjoyed being involved with the Franklin Retirees club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Edith Simons; her husband, Wilbur; a son, Jerry Hammar, a daughter, Barbara Hammar; two sisters, Dorothy Woods and Dixie Loy; a brother, Dean Simons; and a grandson, Cole Millsap.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Loyde) Brown of St. Charles and Sharon (Keith) Millsap of Winterset; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marian Janss of Colorado, Mona Hammans of Grimes, Shirley (Owen) Dudney of Afton, Bill (Una) Antrim of New York , and Paul Antrim; and many other relatives and friends.
