DEATH OF MRS. DR. CARVER.

On Monday evening a bright boy baby came to the home, and mother and babe seemed to be doing fine until about 4 o’clock Wednesday evening when Mrs. Carver grew worse, and died after suffering about four hours. This has been a shock to the whole community, for she was widely known and generally loved. Mrs. Carver taught school four years in Peru—two years as principal of the schools. The doctor has the sympathy of the entire community. We hope to have a complete obituary later.

PERU

On Thursday morning this entire community was shocked on hearing of the death of Mrs. J. W. Carver. A baby boy had come to bless the home on Tuesday and both mother and babe seemed to be doing nicely, until a sudden change came about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, caused by some form of kidney trouble and after about four hours of intense suffering, she passed into that everlasting sleep. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Corkill on Friday afternoon at 2:30 in the main part of the new M. E. church, where a concourse of over 500 friends, besides relatives, met to pay the last tribute of respect. Interment was made in the Ebeneezer cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in their hours of sadness.

The Peru schools dismissed Friday afternoon that all might attend the funeral of Mrs. Carver.

A great number of people from Truro attended the funeral of Mrs Carver on Friday. She acted as primary teacher in the Truro school last year, and had won the esteem of all who knew her there. Mrs. Carver will be remembered as Miss Gladys Martin when a teacher.
