January 1937Erma May Bradshaw, daughter of Joe and Thelma Bradshaw, was born at St. Charles, Iowa, December 28, 1935, and passed away January 3, 1937, age 1 year and 6 days.
She with her parents moved to Van Meter last March. She was taken ill and entered the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on December 23. Everything possible has been done for her but to no avail. She was taken to the protecting care of him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me." (A poem is here). She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bradshaw and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Allen. Her great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sander (Souder?) and Mr. Stephen Bradshaw.

Page 6Erma Mae, the one year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bradshaw of Van Meter, passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines on Monday, Jan. 4 after weeks of suffering from a tumor of the lungs.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in St. Charles Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Rector of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. Patterson.
Burial was made in the family lot in the St. Charles cemetery. Including those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Lee Allen and family of New Virginia, Clarence Allen and family of Winterset, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Perry of Bevington, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith of near Dexter and Ray Bradshaw of near Van Meter.
