Casper Armbrest went out of the house Friday evening for a minute or two. When he came back he found his wife gasping for breath. She told him that she had had a severe coughing spell. Mr. Armbrest picked her up and put her on the bed and summoned a physician.

Before the physician arrived 20 minutes later, Mrs. Armbrest was dead.

Mrs. Armbrest Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Casper Armbrest died at her home in the southeast part of town last Friday night about 11:00 o’clock of heart trouble. She had been in apparent good health and had been in bed but a short time when she began to cough and passed away in a few minutes. Mrs. Armbrest was an old and highly respected citizen of Winterset and was dearly beloved by all who knew her. She was a kind and faithful wife and a loving mother and will be greatly missed by the husband and children who are left behind.

Miss Etta Odell was born near Bucyrus, Crawford county, Ohio, Jan. 21, 1844 and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Odell, to Winterset in 1854. She was the youngest of seven children, all of whom have passed away. Dec. 7, 1865 she was married to Casper Armbrest, a veteran of the civil war, who survives her. To this union eight children were born, five daughters and three sons, all of whom are living and were present at the funeral, which occurred from the home Monday, Feb. 3d, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett.
