Thursday,September 8, 1927

J. F. Trimmer, a former resident of Madison county, and a father of Mrs. S. M. Drake of Douglas township, died, Friday, August 26th at this home in Decatur, Illinois. Mr. Trimmer, who was 82 years of age, and a Civil war veteran, was struck by an automobile at Decatur, August 17th, and he died from the injuries.

The deceased was born in Perry county, Pennsylvania, and moved to Macon county, Illinois. He was married to Miss Diantha Henry, February 4, 1875, at Winterset, and he made this place his home for the following fourteen years, after which he moved back to Illinois. During the Civil war, he served as a member of Company B. 152 Illinois Volunteer infantry.

Mr. Trimmer is survived by his wife, and five daughters, and one son: Mrs. P. W. Keister, Mrs. Harry Brett and the Misses Ora and Florence Trimmer, and A. R. Trimmer of Decatur and Mrs. Drake of this vicinity. He is also survived by a sister and two brothers, D. W. of Albion, Indiana and John Trimmer of Decatur, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Drake and two daughters, Pauline and Lorraine, came back here last Friday, from Decatur, where they had been called by his critical illness.
