William H. Hildebrand, an old citizen of Winterset, died Saturday, June 4th, after a short illness. Mr. Hildebrand was a son of Samuel and Matilda Hildebrand, and was born July 16th, 1856, in Douglas township. He lived most of his life in Douglas township. He was married to Miss Matilda Reed in 1881, and to this union were born eight children: Mrs. Harry Springston of Susanville, California, Wiley S. of Clontar, Minnesota, Mrs. Orrill Johnson of Benson, Minnesota. Two of the children died in infancy. He is also survived by two brothers, W. S. Hildebrand of Winterset, and S. C. Hildebrand of Norwalk, and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral Services were conducted at the Tidrick Funeral home, Monday afternoon, June 6th, at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev. Clare McCallon, and burial was made in the (North) McDonald cemetery.
