Thursday, June 9, 1927Samuel S. McIlree died Thursday evening, June 2nd. Mr. McIlree had been in ill health for three weeks and had been at the local hospital for treatments. Heart trouble and complications caused his death. The deceased was seventy-two years of age and was born in Peoria, Illinois.
He moved to Madison county twenty years ago. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Mary Cordelia Partridge and to this union were born three children, all of whom survive him: Mrs. Pearl Robinson of Marshall, Indiana, Franklin Earl, of Omaha, and Jennie, at home. He also leaves two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. D. J. Shenton. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Page 2Samuel Saulsbury McIllree passed away Thursday night, June 2nd, 1927.
He was born near Peoria, Illinois, June 14th, 1854, where he spent his entire life, until moving to Madison county about twenty years ago.
In early childhood he was baptized into the United Presbyterian church, and although in later years he was not affiliated with any church, he lived a good, clean life, true to his friends, devoted to his home and family, and following the golden rule.
In 1883 the deceased was married to Mary Cornella Partridge, and to this union were born three children, Mrs. Pearl Robinson of Marshall, Indiana, Franklin Earl of Omaha, and Jennie at home, who together with two grandchildren, John and Duane, are left to mourn his loss.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, and interment was in the Winterset cemetery.
