Death of Mrs. Lizzie Krell

Mrs. Lizzie Krell died at her home on July 4th, after a series of paralytic strokes.

Mrs. Krell, then Miss Lizzie Wissler, came from Ohio to this county in 1875 locating in Webster Township residing there until her removal to Winterset in 1900. Two years later she was married to the late J. H. Krell who died three years ago. Mrs. Krell was an earnest member of the Methodist church for many years. She was greatly loved by her nephews and nieces as well as her neighbors and friends.

Burial services were held on Friday at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. M. M. Cables.

The City and County

Mr. and Mrs. Lew Krell, Sam Krell, Mrs. Tina Wight and daughter, Winifred of Des Moines, Chauncey Krell of Ackley and Rev. H. L. Wissler of Gilbert, Iowa were in the city Friday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Lizzie Krell.

MORTUARY

Mrs. Lizzie Wissler

Lizzie A. Wissler was born in Pickaway county, Ohio, Sept. 19, 1843. In November, 1875, she with her older sister and aged parents moved to Madison county, locating on a farm in Webster township. In 1900, she with her sister, moved to Winterset, where she has since resided.

On Dec. 17, 1902, she was joined in marriage to J. H. Krell and left a widow June 3, 1914.

When a young girl she united with the Evangelical church and later changed her membership to the M. E. church, remaining a consistent member until her death, which occurred at her home on July 4, 1917, leaving a number of nephews and nieces, with a host of friends to mourn her departure.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church Friday afternoon, July 6th, conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. M. Cable and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Winterset.
