JOHN JEROME FINDLEY, WINTERSET, IOWA

John Jerome Findley, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, in Winterset, Iowa.

John was born to the late Orville and Maxine Findley of Afton, Iowa, on June 29, 1939. A Navy veteran and retired engineer from Union Pacific Railroad, he was an avid reader and a listener of public radio and he enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of DSM Valley Friends Meeting.

John was preceded in death by his daughter, Louisa Findley. He is survived by his companion, Erin Stites; his siblings, Margo (Jake) Walters, Dennis (Marie) Findley, Nancy Sells, Jim (Sharon) Findley, and K.C. (Holly) Findley; his children, Kyla (Bret) Cox, John (Marina) Findley, Charlotte Findley (Jay Cross), and Noah Findley; his step children, Caleb Prevo, Jubel Muse (deceased), Hannah Muse, Gabriel Condor; his grandchildren, Amanda and Nathan Cox, Nicholas, Salvador, Maxine Findley and Steve Vasquez, Kaitlin Findley and Cazshmere Poush; and great-grandchildren, Makayla, Elijah, and Maya. John will be so dearly missed.

A memorial potluck will be held at the Madison County Fairgrounds Jackson Building (1204 W. Summit St. in Winterset) on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to Iowa Public Radio, or Neil Smith National Wildlife Refuge or DSM Valley Friends Meeting.

John Findley, St. Charles

John, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Feb. 21. He will be missed by so many loved ones. Memorial Potluck is 1:00PM,Feb. 28, Madison Co. Fairgrounds Jackson Building, 1204 W. Summit Street, Winterset, Memorial contributions can be made to Iowa Public Radio, Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge or DSM Valley Friends.
