Austin Dean Ayers, 24, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Madison County, Iowa.

Austin was born February 16, 1991, in Greenfield, Iowa, to Allen and Shelia (Clausen) Ayers. He grew up in Casey and attended Adair-Casey High School graduating in 2010. While in high school, Austin participated in track, basketball, baseball and football. He also played football in Jr. College for one year.

He loved playing football, fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter, raccoon hunting, the outdoors and nature. He also enjoyed kayaking and reptiles. Austin had a love of sports, no matter what it was, but especially enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Austin is survived by a son, Cameron Schwartz of Atlantic, IA; his mother, Shelia Ayers of West Des Moines, IA; his father, Allen (Codi) Ayers of Casey, IA; brothers, Adam Ayers of Adair, IA and Nash and Griffin Ayers of Casey, IA; sister, Katie Ayers and her fiancé, Alex Kading; his fiancé, Lauren Fast of Elliott, IA; maternal grandparents, Clair and Darnell Clausen of Apache Junction, AZ; paternal grandparents, Jim (Phyllis) Ayers of Schaller, IA; grandparents, Chuck (Linda) Bradshaw of Linden, IA; uncles, Randy Clausen of Cherokee, IA, Kelvin (Deb) Ayers of Rathdrum, ID, Douglas (Donna) Ayers of Denton, TX, Tom (Kandi) Meinecke of Panora, IA and Chuck Bradshaw of Jefferson, IA; nephews, Harper Milne and Grant Kading of Casey, IA; his fiancé’s parents, Chuck (Mary Beth) Fast of Elliott, IA; and many cousins.

Visitation with family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Hockenberry Family Care in Adair, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Casey United Methodist Church in Casey, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for designation later.
