Heart Attack Fatal to 67 Year Old Local Resident. Burial at Tingley Monday.
Jesse Aikin, 67, died at his home here Friday after being stricken by a sudden heart attack. He had been bothered with a serious heart condition for about a week previously and was unable to take care of his work carrying the mail, between the post office and the depot. He felt so much better Friday morning that he planned to return to his duties. The fatal attack came just after he had finished eating dinner Friday noon.
A short funeral service was held at the Welch Funeral Home here Monday morning. The body was then taken to Arispe where another service was held at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at Tingley, near where Mr. Aikin spent his early life.
Two daughters, one of Des Moines and the other of Atlantic, and a son of Shannon City survive.
