MRS. VERDA A. HANNON

Mrs. Verda A. Hannon, 74, wife of C. Lloyd Hannon, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon at the corner of 15th and Linn Streets. She resided at 15 West 14th Street.

Mrs. Hannon was born October 25, 1901 in Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Ada McFarland Givan. She was graduated from Winterset High School and attended one year at Iowa State Teachers College in Iowa Falls. She taught school in the Orient area for 10 years.

On April 7, 1927 she was married to C. Lloyd Hannon in Greenfield, Iowa. The couple came to Atlantic in 1937 and Mrs. Hannon was a clerk in the Dear Little Shop for 15 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Macksburg, Iowa and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors are her husband; one sister, Mrs. Everett Brown of Cutknife Sask., Canada; one brother Carl Givan of Macksburg, Iowa. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Marjorie Rea and Mary Ruth, twins died in infancy; and Patty Lou at the age of 17 years; five sisters, Mrs. John Allen, Mrs. Edith Bevington, Mrs. E.E. Mrs. Del Tucker, and Mrs. Eva Purdy; also two brothers, Louis and Lloyd Givan.
