Rex Rhodes, 63 of Earlham passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. on Sunday, January 18th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Earlham. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 19th at the Earlham Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Earlham City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Rex Rhodes Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Rex Dean Rhodes, 63 of Earlham passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Rex was born November 16, 1951 to Dale and Vivian (Pierce) Rhodes at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He grew up in Van Meter and attended Van Meter Schools. He married his high school sweetheart Linda McDaniel on June 26, 1971 in Van Meter, Iowa and together they made their home in Earlham. Rex and Linda owned and operated Westside Bar & Grille since October 28, 1995. Together they worked hard and he enjoyed making new friends throughout the years owning Westside. Rex enjoyed gambling and going to the casino. Prior to owning Westside he was an active hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda and his parents, Dale and Vivian Rhodes.

Rex leaves behind his siblings: Robert (Dee) Rhodes and Linda Nickell; sisters-in-law: Barbara (Dennis) Brott and Brenda Coon (Jim Koboldt) both of Earlham ; brother-in-law: Delbert “Beav” (Michele) McDaniel of Earlham; mother-in-law: Mary Lou McDaniel of Earlham; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss him dearly.
