Long-Time Local Resident Died Saturday at Ago of 83
Mrs. Melissa E. Lyon, for many years a resident of Winterset and Madison county, died at Clarinda last Saturday. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs. Lyon came to Madison county from Indiana as a child, and spent most of her life in and near Winterset She was the widow of the late John T. Lyon.
Her nearest surviving relatives are a son, Glen Lyon of Des Moines and a sister, Miss Elmira Benge of Winterset.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. this afternoon (Tuesday) from the Tidrick funeral home, in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial will be made in the Wlnterset cemetery.
