Obituary

Sarah Rosalind Renshaw, youngest daughter of Sylvester Renshaw, was born Dec. 24, 1877, and died Jan. 10, 1892, being fourteen years and twenty-three days old at the time of her death.

Rosa as she was familiarly called, was taken sick on Monday at school, and on Saturday before noon was dead. Thus suddenly the relentless hand of death was laid upon one of earth's fairest flowers, just as it seemed to be budding into womanhood. Oh, how beautiful these two periods of life, childhood and womanhood, seemed blending together. The simple confiding trust of the child mingled with the strong abiding love, sympathy and fate of the woman.

Some three or four years ago Rosa, with other members of the family, united with the M. E. church, since which time and even before, we believe, she lived a true christian life, expressing many times during her sickness that God was able to keep her.

As death again enters her home and takes another one of those little lambs from our fold, the words of our Savior in the scripture text becomes a command. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."

Darling Rosa, words cannot express our sorrow for thee, but thank God that while we lay thy precious body in the tomb we have the blessed assurance that thy spirit is going to God who gave it, and at last on the resurrection morn, Jesus himself will break the bonds of death asunder, and died that somebody will come forth beautiful, glorious and forever blessed.
