July 1940Funeral services for James Albert England, 89, of West Des Moines, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Valley funeral home. Burial will be at Jordan cemetery
Mr. England died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Youtz, Route 1,West Des Moines. He had been a resident in or near Polk county for more than 80 years since he came to Iowa from Indiana in a covered wagon when 4 years old.
Mr. England is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martha Wharff, Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Youtz; Mrs. Mary Arbuckle, Udel, Ia.; Mrs. Ed Mendenhall, West Des Moines, and Mrs. Linnie Jamison, Estherville, Ia., and one son, Ervin England, Earlham, Ia.
______________________Transcriber's note: The deceased died on July 6, 1940 and was a resident of Madison County from the 1850s through the early 1880s and again around 1910. He was married in Madison County in 1872.
