Thursday, October 22, 1925The sad news was received by local relatives and friends this evening of the death of F. C. Hodson at his home near Forest City, caused by heart trouble of long standing. Frank attended the funeral of his sister, Mrs. M. S. Garrett a few weeks ago, and was then in poor health—so much so that after making the trip here he was unable to attend the funeral service. The body will be brought here for interment at the side of the deceased wife, and funeral services will be held at the Friends Church Sunday afternoon.

Thursday, October 30, 1925Frank Carey Hodson, son of Geo. W. and Ann Hodson, was born July 9, 1873 at Clarksville, Ohio, and passed from this life at Forest City, Iowa, Oct. 20, 1925, aged 52 years, 3 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Louise Feitz Nov. 23, 1895. Four children came to bless this union when on Dec. 24, 1901, the cold hand of death was laid upon the wife and mother and she was taken from her loved ones. On Oct. 9, 1907, the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Ora May Whitlow, who survives him. To this union one child was born.
Mr. Hodson lived in this community until 1914 when the family moved to Thompson, Iowa, residing there until two years ago when they moved to Forest City, where he passed away. For the past year Mr. Hodson had been an invalid, suffering with a complication of diseases. Recently he went to Jordon, Minn. for treatment and it seemed that at last he was to recover his health when pneumonia set in and in his weakened condition he was unable to combat the disease.
He leaves to mourn their loss his faithful wife Ora May Hodson, five children: Ivan D., Nate N., Emmet L., Mrs. Mildred Blanche Sternberg, and Arvida Carey Hodson; six grandchildren; three brothers, William of Reynolds, N. Dakota, Charles and Clarence of Forest City; two sisters, Nora and Jennie of Spokane, Wash., and a host of friends. Two sisters preceded him in death, Lillie several years ago and Margaret, who was laid to rest just a week ago.
Mr. Hodson was a member of the Masonic Fraternity holding his membership at Thompson, Iowa. Funeral services were conducted at the Friends Church at Earlham on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 23, by the pastor, S. H. Williams, and the remains laid to rest in Earlham Cemetery. The services at the grave were conducted by his Masonic brothers, member of Earlham Lodge.
