Rex Edward Sheehan, Des Moines

Rex E. Sheehan, 55, was born June 29, 1959, to Floyd and Norma Sheehan in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away on August 23, 2014.

Rex worked for American National Can for 17 years. He was a handy man and enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Rex was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Rex is survived by his wife of 29 years, Peggy; sons, Christopher and Jonathan Sheehan; brothers, Cub (Jani) Sheehan and Bill (Mary Langen) Sheehan; sisters, Karen (Al) Hayes and Kim (Gary) Vaughn; mother-in-law, Nancy Horn; father-in-law, Richard Martin; brother-in-law, Ronnie Martin; sister-in-law, Amy (Mark) Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with visitation to begin at 12:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Saylor Township Fire Department in loving memory of Rex.
