De Soto, Iowa , Jan 20 - Joseph Simmons, a citizen of our place, accidentally shot himself this morning. He was on his way to Van Meter in a sled, in company with F. R. Lewis, our lumber dealer, Mr. L. driving the team and Mr. S. carrying a shotgun when it was accidentally discharged, the contents of one barrel entering the left breast. At this writing, we are not informed of the seriousness of the wound.
