Midvale Reporter
Another of our old and dearly beloved citizens passed to her eternal rest Wednesday, January 9th when Grandma Malvina Hinshaw departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. T. Points, after illness of only a few days. She was taken sick with pneumonia on Saturday, January 5th, and passed away the following Wednesday at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 9 days.
Malvina Ellen Leddington was born in Virginia on the 28th day of February, 1825, moving with her parents to Missouri where she married Silas Hinshaw in 1855; to this union were born three children: Elihu William Hinshaw of Rush Creek; Daniel E. Hinshaw of Topeka, Kansas; and Martha Malinda Points of this place. Her husband was killed in the war of the 60s after which she moved with her children to Kansas where she remained until she moved to this county in 1883, making her home in this section until her death, being well known throughout the county and dearly beloved by all.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at this place Saturday and the remains were laid at rest in the Salubria cemetery beside those of her two brothers who preceded her to the great beyond some time since.
