RHONDA LYNN McNELLY PETERSON HANNER, Stuart

Ronda Lynn McNelly Peterson Hanner, 52, of Stuart, Iowa passed away, May 3, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ronda Hanner Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Ronda was born August 18, 1961 in Greenfield, Iowa to Gary Allen (Marjorie) McNelly and Earline (Dean) Stanley. She was raised in the Winterset and Stuart area, attended both schools. In 1977, Ronda became the proud mother of a baby girl, Cathy. She was united in marriage to Jack Peterson in 1977 in Winterset and together they became the proud parents of two children, Casey and Nicole. She lived in Des Moines and Texas for a short time before moving back to the Stuart area where she made her home. Ronda married Tom Hanner on February 17, 1996. She was employed at Employers Mutual in Des Moines, the Urbandale Nursing Home, West Bridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winterset and for the past 12 years she has worked for the Stuart Community Care Center as a CNA. Later in life Ronda found her soul mate in life, Dale Frost. They spent four happy years together before Dale's passing. Some of her favorite pastimes were making glass etchings, rock collecting, collecting Native American memorabilia, watching her favorite TV programs, Son's of Anarchy and Criminal Minds, but most of all she enjoyed quality time spent with her children and grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her step-sister, Shelly Stark, uncle, William Mumford, grandparents, Allen and Mildred McNelly, Zenna and Clifford Watson, Kenneth and Carrie Mumford and her companion and soul mate, Dale Frost.

Ronda leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Cathy Stanley (Craig) Cather, Casey (Abigail) Peterson and Nicole Munoz (Chris) Lindberg; parents, Gary and Marjorie McNelly and Earline (Dean) Stanley; siblings, Gary (Joan) McNelly Jr, Matt (Lisa) McNelly, Shawn (Pam) McNelly, Laurie (Dallas) Shelby; step-siblings, Kevin Stark and Daved Harrison; 13 grandchildren, Gabbi and Zach Kays, Andrew and Isabella Munoz, Alexa Lindberg, Alayna and Owen Cather, Felicite, Halonna, Angelina, Enoch, Viano, and Uriah Peterson; her very special dog Buster and a host of other family members and her extended family at the Community Care Center all of whom will miss her greatly.
