DEATH OF JOHN PORTER

John Porter, father if James Porter, died Tuesday at about 2 o’clock p.m., at the home of his son. With Mr. Porter we held no acquaintance, but have always heard him spoken of with respect.

He had made his home at Winterset for a number of years. Last year he lost his home by fire, and since that time has made his home with his son James and family, who have given him the best of care and medical attendance but old age, and the shock sustained in seeing his home destroyed, and the name of John Porter is a loving memory to those who loved him. The family have our love and sympathy of this home, and that of many, many others outside of it.
