Albert Victoria, or Vicker as every one called him, died about eleven o’clock on last Sunday night, after a protracted illness. He was born in Hucice, Bohemia, March 24, 1831. He was married to Barbara Shatava in 1861. Three daughters were born to them. He came to Iowa in an early day. For over a year he had been confined to his bed and his death had been expected for some time.

The funeral service was held in the Presbyterian church on Wednesday morning conducted by Rev. Best, and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. The remains were laid away in North Branch cemetery.

At the same time services were held for two of his grandchildren who died last spring with diphtheria. They were Lewis Shatava, born April 11, 1894, died March 23, 1901; Joseph Shatava, born Nov. 18, 1897, died March 23, 1901. They were sons of Mr. and Mrs. Lue Shatava. They were buried close by the remains of their grandfather.
