St. Charles

Rice Proudfoot died Thursday evening of tuberculosis. Funeral services were held at the home in Des Moines, Saturday afternoon at two o’clock. Mr. Proudfoot will be remembered by people of St. Charles and vicinity as coming to St. Charles in the capacity of clerk for John Van Scoy. A few years later he became a member in the firm of Stouffer, Proudfoot & Wood, and later still senior member in the firm of Proudfoot, Wood & Horton. After the last named firm dissolved, he moved to Des Moines where he remained till the time of his death.
