Atha N. Barnett died Monday at the home of John Reynolds, northwest of town.

He had been afflicted with cancer for several years. The funeral was held in the M.E. church on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. J. W. Stribling, and interment was in Earlham cemetery.

Atha N. Barnett, son of Jesse and Maria Barnett, was born in Marion county, Ind., Dec. 6, 1848. Removed with his parents to Richland, Iowa, in 1849.

Later in life he made his home near Earlham. Since 1872 he has made his home in Nebraska and the west.
