Marty Houseman, 55, of Winterset died Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Marty Joe Houseman was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 9, 1958, the son of Robert Houseman and Shirley Watts. He graduated from Winterset High School.

During his working career, Marty worked in commercial printing for 20 years, was owner of The Corner Tavern in Winterset for 10 years and most recently worked for the Winterset Redemption Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and racing and especially enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his father, Robert Houseman of Winterset; his children, Tasha Houseman of Winterset, Brandon Houseman of Des Moines, Tyrell Houseman of Sioux Falls, SD, and Cody Houseman of Norwalk; siblings, LuAnn Goodell of Orlando, FL, Rick Houseman of Winterset, Nick Houseman of DeSoto, and Russ Green of South Carolina; step-siblings, Annette Dillinger of Peru, Connie Baker of Winterset, Gene Akers of Winterset, Karen Akers of Winterset, and Allen Akers of Winterset; and seven grandchildren.

Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley and his step-mother, Rosetta Houseman.
