Bonnie Lea Kirsch was born in Osceola, Iowa to John and Beulah (White) Kirsch of Peru. She grew up on a farm near Peru and attended school in Winterset where she graduated in the class of 1972. Upon graduation, she attended Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska where she obtained her elementary education teaching degree. After receiving her degree, she moved to Atkinson, Nebraska where she began her teaching career in a one room school. Later, she and her family moved back to Winterset and Bonnie continued her teaching career, primarily in early education and preschool, in Truro and later in Des Moines. She also was a dedicated substitute teacher in the Earlham, Winterset and Adel School Districts. Her love of children made her a beloved teacher to her students. All this said, she loved nothing more than her family, especially her three girls who were her pride and joy.

Bonnie is survived by her three daughters, Johnette (Brooks) Dent of Clayton, NC, Angela (Brent) Springer of Bellevue, NE, and Shannon Snyder of Macksburg; a brother, John Wayne Kirsch of Lineville; a sister, Connie (Darryl) Couts of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two grandchildren, Darren and Kaylea Dent; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Lorene Kirsch and a niece and a nephew.
