Linda was born November 13, 1951 in Parsons, Kansas to Delbert Wayne and Mary Lou Houdashelt McDaniel. She was raised in Walnut, Kansas and attended Stark High School until her sophomore year when the family moved to Earlham, Iowa to make their home. Linda graduated from Earlham High School with the class of 1969. She married her high school sweetheart Rex Rhodes on June 26, 1971 in Van Meter, Iowa and together they made their home in Earlham. Linda and Rex owned and operated the Westside Bar & Grille since October 28, 1995. Linda loved her work and enjoyed visiting with all of her friends, old and new that she was able to meet through the years. She truly missed this when she was sick and not able to be at the bar. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed spending time with family, going to auctions, gambling at the casinos, cooking, being outdoors and doting on her beloved cats.
She is preceded in death by her father, Delbert (Bud) McDaniel in February of 1997, two brothers, Robert Lee McDaniel in November of 1996 and Richard Wayne McDaniel in December of 2004 and her grandparents.
Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Rex Rhodes of Earlham; mother Mary Lou McDaniel of Earlham; siblings, Barbara (Dennis) Brott, Brenda Coon (Jim Koboldt), Delbert "Beav" (Michele) McDaniel all of Earlham and a host of nieces, nephews and friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
