Connie A. Mapes

Connie A. Mapes, 62, of Menlo passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. on Sunday, October 6th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 7th at the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connie Mapes Memorial Fund, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Connie was born July 31, 1951 to Arthur and Esther (Lawson) Mapes in Earlham, Iowa. She graduated from Stuart High School with the class of 1971. She was blessed with two children: Debbie and Clarence.

She was a longtime member of the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the UMW, Outreach and the Bible Study Group. She was a faithful woman and was very generous to everyone.

She enjoyed making greeting cards and helped set up Hallmark displays. She helped deliver Congregate meals in Stuart. She enjoyed reading, music, puzzles and card games. She was also loved her cat: Scotchie

She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Esther Mapes and daughter: Debbie Uebler.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her son: Clarence (Amanda) Uebler of Casey; grandchildren: Justina Geddes, Heather Geddes and Ronald Uebler; sister: Cathy (Charles) Clark of Perry; special-friend: Ted Peterson of Stuart; Uncles: Bob (Vivian) Lawson of Dexter, and Warren Carter of Stuart; Aunts: Sylvia Williams of Stuart, Ruth Hill of Davenport and a many other cousins, family and friends that will miss her dearly.
