John George Ziemann was born in Jefferson township, Madison county, Iowa June 25, 1875.

On the first day of August in the same year he was received into fellowship with Christ by the sacrament of holy baptism. On March 30, 1890, he renewed his baptismal vow and was received into full membership of the Evangelical Lutheran church by the solemn rite of conformation.

On March 12, 1903, he entered into the holy estate of matrimony with Miss Anna Niendorff. To this union one daughter, Edna, was born. Unfortunately, after 19 years of wedded life, the union was dissolved by a decree of divorce.

For some time John had been suffering with diabetes. Troubles and worries ----------- and about three weeks ago, he was forced to take to his bed. In spite of all medical attention and the loving care of his sister and her husband, his brothers and his daughter, he failed rapidly and on June 22nd, early in the morning he quietly slumbered away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Mary Fundinger. He attained an age of 47 years, less three days.

The mourning survivors are his daughter, Edna; four brothers: William and Reinhold of Oakes, N.D., and Emil and Otto, here; and his sister, Mary.

The remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery in Jefferson township, after a funeral service in the Lutheran church by the pastor, C. Lilie.
