Eliza D. Whited was born in Warren county, Iowa, on Jan. 26, 1862 and died at her home in Winterset, on May 11, 1922, being 60 years, 3 months and 15 days old at the time of her departure.

She was one of a family of ten children and was the first of the ten to pass from the earthly pilgrimage. Most all her life was spent in this community. When a young woman, she became the companion of J. T. Kinkennon, who survives. Beside the husband she leaves to hold her in sacred memory six children, all of whom were present at the funeral services, the nine brothers and sisters, some of whom could not be present at the time of her death; and other relatives, and a large circle of friends.

Mrs. Kinkennon was a hard working woman, and was always interested in serving others as well as herself. She was in poor health for a few weeks, and growing weaker under the weight of the disease, the end came on Thursday afternoon.

Funeral services were conducted by E. B. Chancellor at the Church of Christ on Saturday at 12 o’clock. Burial was made in the Roberts cemetery west of Winterset.
