Francis Power of St. Charles, died at his home on April 4th. For two years he had been a great sufferer and his condition had been critical for several weeks before death came to him at the age of 76 years. Funeral services were held in St. Charles on Thursday and the remains laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.

Francis Power, who has been in poor health for the past two years, passed away Tuesday evening, April 4th, at the age of 76 years. Funeral services were held in the U.P. church Thursday and his remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.

Francis Power was born in Ireland and died at home in St. Charles, Iowa, April 4th, 1922 aged 76 years, 1 month and 13 days. On August 5th, 1871, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Hannah Picken. On April 15, 1873, they left Ireland and came to Illinois, and two years later came to Iowa and settled on a farm near St. Marys, later moving to St. Charles.
Mrs. Power died September 26, 1915, and in 1917 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Lena Coltrane who survives him. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church.
Funeral services were held in the church April 6th conducted by Rev. Park assisted by Rev. Field, of the First Methodist church and Dr. Thompson of the First United Presbyterian church of Des Moines. Interment was made in the St. Charles Cemetery.
