Eunice Ives Hayner was born near Woorster, Otsego county, N.Y., on March 13, 1830 and died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Perkins, near Mallard, Iowa, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 15 days. She was married July 26, 1855 to Henry Hayner, who preceded her in death April 24, 1897. To this union were born nine children, one having died in infancy. Eight survive her: Mrs. Mary Driscoll of Des Moines, D. B. Hayner of San Antonio, Texas; Adam Hayner of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; T. H. Hayner of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Emma Phipps of Lovilla, Iowa; J. T. Hayner of Mallard; Mrs. Eliza Davis of Lovilla and Mrs. Rachel Devine of Stillwater, Okla. She was converted and baptized in the Lutheran church in her early life in New York and later transferred her membership to the Highland Park Methodist church. She was stricken with paralysis a year ago in April and has been entirely helpless since. She bore her suffering with patience and only prayed to be taken home.
