Page 1Death of Mrs. J. F. Peterson
Mrs. J. F. Peterson, who lived just west of Winterset for several years, died at her home near Grimes on July 24th. She had been suffering a nervous breakdown since March and gradually declined in health. The remains were brought here for burial and taken to the Ewick home.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at the Baptist church, Rev. Geo. D. Rogers conducting the ceremonies. Burial took place in the city cemetery.
Mr. Peterson, two daughters, Mrs. Carey Lewis of this county and Miss Gladys, and two sons, Earl of Grimes and Ray of Des Moines survive Mrs. Peterson, who was much esteemed by her neighbors and friends acquired during her life in Madison county.

Hannah F. Gunderson, (sic) daughter of Lawrence and Dora Gunderman, was born in Will county, Illinois, January 24, 1869, and departed this life at Grimes, Iowa, July 27, 1921, at the age of 52 years, 6 months and three days. At the age of two years she came to Taylor county, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.
In the year 1890 she was united in marriage to John F. Peterson of Taylor county, Iowa. To this union were born five children, one son, Jessie, dying at the age of two years.
The deceased is survived by her husband and four children, Gladys Peterson of Grimes, Earle Peterson, of Grimes, Raymond Peterson, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Pearl Lewis of St. Charles. Also two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Minnie Heaton, of Conway, Iowa, Mrs. Lizzie Marshall, Beaman, Iowa, Mrs. John Gunderman, of Lenox, Henry Gunderman, of St. Paul, William Gunderman, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
She was united with the Methodist church in early life of which she has been a true Christian, a faithful wife and loving mother.
