Death of D. W. Decker

Mrs. Ella Garner has received word of the death of her brother, Daniel Webster Decker, of Galveston, Texas. Mr. Decker, who was born in Knox county, Missouri, was past 60 years of age. Interment will be made at East Peru. The remains were to leave Galveston yesterday, hence the date of burial is not yet known.

Peru

The body of Daniel Webster Decker arrived Saturday from Galveston, Texas, and funeral services were held Sunday at 11 o’clock, Rev. Shannon officiating.

He was born in Knox county, Missouri, April 25, 1860 and died at Galveston, Feb. 7, 1921, at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Those left to mourn his loss are: James Decker, Anthony Decker, Melvin Decker, Mrs. Sara Porter, Mrs. Ellen Garner, Miss Jennie Decker, brothers and sisters of the deceased.

Interment was in the Peru cemetery.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Garner of Winterset, Melvin Decker and Miss Jennie Decker of Des Moines.
