Arthur Henry Clausen, the son of Anton Clausen and Amalie, nee Wishmeier, was born on a farm south of Dexter, Iowa, on February 15, 1904.

In 1935, he was married to Grace Morgan. They had one son, Larry. For a number of years Art was engaged in farming south of Dexter. After moving to town with his family, he worked for the Redfield brickyard, a service station in Dexter, and then from 1954 to 1966 served as day marshall. Upon his retirement he served as ambulance driver and assistant at the Evans Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. He died February 11, 1971, four days short of his 67th birthday. He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Larry Clausen and Robert Morgan of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two brothers, Carl of Ocheyden, Iowa and Paul of Dexter; two sisters, Lenore, Mrs. Everett Algreen of Earlham; and Meta, Mrs. Glen Ludwick of Dexter.
