Deborah Curnes, 52, of Yuma, Ariz., died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her home.
A private Family Memorial Service will be held on June 2 in Winterset. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation of goods or money be made to a nearby animal shelter.
Deborah Sue was born on Aug. 6, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa. Deb spent her early years in Winterset and Peru and later attended Southeast Warren High School. She was an avid reader and a lover of all animals. She had an adventuresome soul and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Blanche and James Roush and Bessie and Harley Curnes.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Roush; and her father, Wayne (Kathy) Curnes; her brother, Terry (Mary) Curnes and their children Terra Palmquist (husband Ryan with their son Breckin) and Tyler Curnes; and her sister, Michele (Kevin) Nowak and their son Cory Doss (wife Tracey and their daughters Vivienne and Gabriella). She is also survived by her half-siblings, Jerry Curnes and his sons Justin and Ethan, Sharrie Steele and husband Mark, and Carrie Curnes.
