Bert Clements Funeral Conducted Monday

Funeral rites for Lambert Milton "Bert" Clements, who passed away last Friday, Oct. 23 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital, were conducted Monday afternoon at Hengstler's Chapel. The Rev. H.F. Beebe, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated at the rites. Pallbearers were Fred Hasenpflug, Joe Dobry, Ivan Copeland, Walter Clare, James Burt and Albert Bonge. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Lambert Milton Clements, son of Asa Stuart and Sarah Ann Clements, was born Aug. 13, 1869 at DeSoto, Madison County, Ia. He was 84 years of age at the time of his death.

He came to Creighton, with his family, in 1893, where he resided until his death. For many years he operated a livery stable here at the site of the Homer Blair building, occupied recently by the Callen Motor Co.

He united with the Methodist Church on April 30, 1951.

Surviving are three brothers, Walter of Creighton, Ed R. of Independence, Mo. and Curtis M. of Highland, Kan.

Transcriber's note: The Clements family lived in Madison Township, Madison County at the time of Bert's birth. They would likely have had a De Soto P. O. which accounts for the description of his birthplace in the obituary.
