Tuesday Rites for Clara Jones

Services for Mrs. Clara L. Jones, 72, of 1122 Twenty-seventh St., who died of a stroke Saturday at Mercy Hospital after a two-month illness, will be at noon Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at Peru.

Mrs. Jones, born in East Peru, moved to Des Moines 27 years ago. She was a sales supervisor with McCall’s magazine for 25 years and was a member of Grace Methodist church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Engler of Clinton and Mrs. Anna Belle Comer of Des Moines; two sons, James of Indianola and Bert of Newburg, N.Y.; a brother, Walter Porter of Peru; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
