Francis H. McKinney, 70, of 6121 Harwood Drive, died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the Irish Settlement near the Warren County community of Churchville where he was born.

Mr. McKinney lived in Des Moines 50 years and was a retired supervisor at Bookey Packing Co. He was a member of the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, the Dowling Club, Izaak Walton League, a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Daly Council 644 and a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus Dowling Assembly. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include two brothers Leonard of Denver, Colo., John of Dallas Center, and five sisters, Ella Forret of Booneville, Anna King and Rose M. Penick, both of St. Charles, Theresa Hart of Venice, Fla., and Leona Dittmar of Stuart.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today and friends may call after noon today at Caldwell-Brien-Robbins Funeral Home.
