Thos. Longshore met a severe accident on Tuesday while attending James Roberts' sale. In going down a hill, a strap about the harness broke letting the buggy run forward against the horses. They began kicking and plunging the tongue was run into the ground and Mr. Longshore was thrown out striking heavily on head and shoulders. He was taken to the home of Lamb Shepherd nearby, bearing every evidence of severe injury, seeming to be partially paralyzed. We think however this may have been due to the shock and trust that his recovery will be rapid.

The death of Thomas Longshore, who was badly injured by being thrown from his wagon a week or two ago, resulted on Monday morning from the injuries sustained at that time. The funeral was held at his place and the remains were taken to Madison county and there buried. Mr. Longshore had resided at the farm about five miles northeast of Afton about three years, as we are informed. He was a man much esteemed by those who knew him intimately and his death under such sad circumstances is much to be regretted.
