Bill "Coach" Honnold - Winterset
Jun. 30, 1932 - Apr. 2, 2013

Bill "Coach" Honnold, 80, of Winterset, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at St. Luke's hospital in Maumee, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Nelson and Lay Pastor Dan Honnold officiating. Burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery at Lorimor, Iowa.

Bill was born on June 30, 1932, at Battle Creek, Iowa to Vern and Vera (Thomas) Honnold. He was a 1950 graduate of Winterset High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was married on September 14, 1952 at the First Christian Church in Winterset to Loraine Delene Thompson.

Bill was a lover of Jesus all of his life.

Bill is survived by his sons, Bill Honnold of Winterset, Shawn (Neena) Honnold of Lorimor, Jeremy (Tina) Honnold of Waukee, and Dan (Jenny) Honnold of Des Moines; daughters, Christy (Steve) Nelson of Maumee, Ohio and Cindy (Jim) Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Duane (Edna) Honnold of Lorimor; sisters, Gloria Weeks of Missouri City, TX and Jackie (Phil) Anderson of Bismark, ND; sixteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Vera (Thomas) Honnold; wife, Delene Honnold; sisters, Fyrne Lucile Davis and June Phyllis Thorn; and granddaughters, Dawn Delene Nelson and Sara Michelle Nelson.
