Services for James Franklin Gifford, 74, of Cumming, who died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital Sunday of cancer after a 6-month illness, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cumming Community Church.

Burial will be at the Peru, Ia., cemetery.

Born in Peru, Mr. Gifford moved to Cumming in 1944. He was a retired worker with the Great Western Railroad and part owner of J. F. Gifford and Sons Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah; three sons, James A. of El Paso, Tex, and Donald F. and William L., both of Cumming; a daughter, Sadie Gifford of Winterset; two sisters; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Galloway-McLaren Funeral Home in Norwalk through today.
