Services for Bert Sawhill, 82, of 1625 Delaware Ave., will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in the cemetery at Peru, Ia.

Mr. Sawhill died of lung complications Saturday at Mercy Hospital after a two months illness.

Born in Peru, he had lived in Des Moines more than 50 years. He was a retired carpenter and cabinet maker and a member of Carpenters Union Local 106.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Ellen Foddrill and Mrs. Dolores Mae Hohl, and two sons, Gerald E. and William B., all of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. Reva Wolfe of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Zela Yonts of Vona, Colo., and Mrs. Maggie Bennett of St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother, Aggie Sawhill of Sandpoint, Idaho; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
