Robert A. Nelson, 63, died August 21, 2004 of Interstital Lung Disease. A private service will be held with Rev. Roger Schlaefer officiating.
Bob was born October 7, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN to Ethel and Raymond Nelson who preceded him in death. He graduated with a BA degree from Mankato State University. He worked as an Insurance Claim Specialist for Guide One Insurance, previously he was employed at NCMIC. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved animals, including his three horses, and he enjoyed spending time on his property in Winterset.
Bob is survived by his wife, Janice K. Nelson; sons, Kent Nelson of Concord, CA, Chad Nelson of West Des Moines; step-son, Bill Matz of Chicago, IL.; daughter, Heidi Nelson of Clive; stepdaughter, Jennifer Goldermann of Davenport; grandson, Kevin Nelson of Clive; step grandchildren, Alyssa, Margaret and Andrew Goldermann of Davenport; and other relatives, James and Dorothy Jackson of Minnetonka, MN. Bob was loved and will be missed by many, including his wife, family, friends and business associates.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Lung Association.
