Mrs. Elizabeth Couch Dies at 71 Years

Mrs. Elizabeth V. Couch, formerly of Winterset and Madison county, died Monday, Aug. 28, at a Des Moines hospital. She was 71 years of age. Death resulted from a heart ailment.

Mrs. Couch had been living at the Bishop Drumm home for the aged in Des Moines. She was born in the Irish settlement in Madison county, and spent her early life there. Later she lived in Winterset for a number of years.

She leaves three sons, The Rev. Robert F. Couch of Holy Family Catholic church in Davenport, George M. Couch of West Des Moines, and James T. Couch of Churchville; a sister, Mrs. Anna Stevens of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Catholic church in the Irish settlement. Burial will be made in the cemetery there.
